So Jeff and I finally got to go home, drunk and all and we fell into bed! The next day we were supposed to be babysitting Dani while my parents went to a party, but then we were invited to the same party, so Sarah and Ryan took Dani. So we go to this party for Spanky’s birthday. I have known Spanky for near on 15 years, and he turned 36 this weekend. So I got to see a lot of my dad’s co-workers from GE that I haven’t seen in 8 years and introduce everyone to Jeff. It was really cool though, I guess I made an impression on these people because everyone remembered my name and was super talkative and wanted to know how things were in CA and how things were going now. I almost had to hide from people just wanting to catch up. It was really odd. I barely remember half of them. My dad was cool though, he likes the fact that everyone likes his kid I guess. So eventually I shook them off and took a bunch of pictures and hung out with Terry drinking beers until we decided to go home. At that point Mom asked us to go get Danielle and let her spend the night, so we ended up with her anyway. She told me she would pick her up early in the morning, but I guess they slept in, ‘cuz I didn’t see them until nearly noon the next day. I WONDER what they were doing so late at night.
I shudder to think.
So yeah, we made breakfast Sunday morning and watched Spongebob until Mom came to get D, and basically played house all weekend. I am really afraid to have kids though, as I was up all night thinking I was hearing Dani calling or moving around, Jeff must have been so irritated by the time I fell asleep!
Then, being the social butterflies we are, we went out to the BlueWater Grill on Sunday night for dinner and to see a band with some friends of ours. Well, I had a couple co-workers there, but mainly friends at this point. The Bluewater is right on the Intracoastal Waterway and boats can dock there and people can just hop off the yacht and eat right on the water outside. The weather was perfect, and the food was AWESOME. We had grilled clams and oysters and then we shared the prime rib and shrimp platter they offered. There was so much that looked so good there, I wanted to try everything, but I am still on a diet, after all. Not that I didn’t blow that out of the water yesterday. I got some nice pictures of the band and the water and the boats and stuff, I will have to post them sometime soon.
So overall it was a weekend unlike most others for us. Normally we get out on Friday and then spend the weekend just being homebodies, but I had an awesome time this weekend. If I could just get Jeff to want to go out more often it would be great. He wants to get a boat someday though, so at least one day he’ll be social. God knows no one will leave us alone once he buys a boat.
We did look at houses for a bit on Sunday though, we found 4 that we really liked, and have decided to get a realtor now. Providing of course, that we can get an FHA loan, we should hopefully have a house by October, then we will stay there until something better comes along. Jeff is going to try to one day get a job with GE plastics and then who knows where we will end up. We just need equity now.
I am really excited. I felt like a functioning adult couple this weekend. As opposed to with past relationships I am now worried about how we are going to buy a house, not how we are going to buy weed or some other crazy shit like that. It really is a nice feeling.
Ok I guess that is enough for now, sorry for the long entry, but you know, it gives you something to do with your day!
