patio!

You know I thought I had done a good job at work on Friday and yet I come in today and I am getting bitched at because I forgot to do two things. I forgot to give someone a message and I forgot to have a check deposited in the bank for a woman I work with. Now I just think that when it comes to me doing certain things for work, that my actual WORK should be a priority. I apologized to both people and I was politely and yet curtly forgiven and I feel like I should just take a bite out of that big old shit sandwich. It doesn’t matter that I spent the majority of today and last Friday busting my balls to make things work, it just matters that I made two tiny mistakes. The courtesy levels, the gratitude of people, no longer exist in the business world. There is no room for it as it wastes company money. It makes me sick.

So that is my gripe for today.

These people have no freaking clue sometimes.

Ok now I am done with my gripe.

So we had a fairly uneventful weekend. Went to a burn and grilled up some steaks and had a good time doing that. I really like going to the burns at M & D’s. It is always lots of great fun to eat too much and stare at a fire all night. Plus it was the equinox, and to celebrate it that way seems right. We played some ping pong and I was involved in the most intense game EVER. We were playing to 11 points, but since you have to win by two points we actually played to about 25 points before they got two points in a row. It was crazy. I was on a team with Matt. We were all slamming and running around like idiots and trying to behead each other with the ball. I swear to god it is actually really physical!! If you have never played it, you should. Exercise at it’s finest.

I went to Lowes and Walmart this weekend and I bought a bunch of flowers and plants and planters. I spent the better part of the weekend gardening on my back patio. It looks so nice out there now. We have a lot of pansies and some sweetheart roses and asparagus fern, plus a tropical or two. I am really impressed with how it turned out. I got to thinking about my plantings though and I was fondly remembering the balcony at the Hayward place. I really loved that patio when it was in its prime. I think we all did, sitting out there on nice days smoking and talking and eating and stuff. I do believe this new patio is nicer than the old one. We put up wind chimes and a bird feeder too, plus a nice little thermometer that has a sun, moon and star on it. Tranquility at its finest.

So that was my weekend! I think I am getting domesticated. It is kinda sad, but honestly, really neat. I am just way too excited about a birdfeeder.
