A little Buddhist wisdom with your coffee this morning?
It is foggy out today. I love fog. It blankets the whole area in a quiet calm despite the fact that all normal activity is going on around it. It reminds me of many many things, the bay area just being one of the few things. I have an odd connection to fog. Many of the memories I have from my whole life involve fog in some way. The trip to Tahoe when I said my first swear word, (I wanna see the fucking raccoon), the dust fog at Burning Man, the Golden Gate Bridge with Josh, driving to Fairmont to see Jeff for the first time, Cal State Hayward on mushrooms, the Castro Valley hills with Logan, Reno, Raevyn and Josh and the way it covered everything but the hill tops like a still grey sea with spots of icy green islands all around, like you could jump from one to another. Fog hides us until someone is very close, and I like that, being hidden until someone finds you. Then it is a surprise. You would never know that they were there until you walked up and about bowled them over. The best part of that is they get to help you through it, because eventually fog burns out and you are stuck, but at least you have someone with you, someone who has to sit and bear the sunlight by your side.
I guess that is all anyone ever really wants in life, is someone to suffer through good and bad with.
